City of Minden relies on ARGOS Mobile from DataCollect
The city of Minden has opted for modern, data-based traffic planning - with an ARGOS mobile. The ARGOS has been in use since spring 2025 and records detailed traffic movements at various measuring points in the city. As pedestrians and bicycles can be reliably detected, the data obtained is used, for example, in the planning of safe crossings as part of the redesign of a listed city park.
The ability of ARGOS to detect turning relationships at junctions/roundabouts in particular makes the system extremely flexible to use. It is pleasing that the city of Minden is actively informing its citizens with its own press article about what ARGOS is all about and what the system is used for.
This transparent communication provides important education:
- It explains why the camera is located at certain points in the urban area.
- It shows that it is about traffic counting and analysis - not surveillance.
- It makes it clear what concrete benefits the data obtained has for the safety of all road users.
In this way, Minden strengthens trust in modern technologies and shows what responsible use of AI-supported traffic detection can look like.
