The wireless eTube sensor system is an cost-effective tire detection technology and is used today, for example, to record bicycles.
The advantage of this system is the wireless communication between the self-powered sensor and the receiver station. The innovative adhesive technology reduces the installation effort at the road surface to a minimum.
Modern on-board GPRS wireless communication enables the user to access the data remotely without being on site.
The low power design of the eTube receiver station in combination with the solar power option extends the eTube data collection capabilities to 365 days per year.

Project description
The Vennbahn bike path, which runs along one of the longest disused railway tracks in Europe, takes visitors on a journey through Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The path starts in Aachen, travels through the High Fens, and ends in Troisvierges.
Our eTube bike and SDR bike+ systems are set up at five data collection points to monitor bike traffic in both directions on an 80-km stretch of the Vennbahn.
All the stations are solar powered, in order to guarantee operation year-round.
Both systems send the data collected via GPRS to the web-based www.myTrafficdata.com application to allow for daily analyses of the data.
